We had an excellent time at the Izakaya cooking class. The teachers were kind, thorough, and very entertaining. I would not hesitate to book another class here or to suggest it to friends and family. I think it was a nice touch to dress up in the employee uniform as well!

It is a great experience to participate in the workshop of this izakaya. The chef teaches the course in English and it is easy to understand. We prepare dashimaki, toriyaki and onigiri. At the end you can enjoy the food you prepared in a good atmosphere. If you like Japanese food you should attend this experience. The izakaya is very close to the Nishiki market, so you can experience this workshop and continue exploring places.

Getting to the shop was a bit of a challenge but luckily someone led us to the entrance. The shop has a nice modern aesthetic but it offers authentic Izakaya atmosphere too. They made us wear their uniform too to complete the experience! The chef/instructor was an English speaker so it’s not hard to understand or follow instructions him and the staff were nice. The dishes were fairly easy to make so it would be recommended even for those who don’t know how to make. I would definitely go again with my friends next time to let them try making some Japanese Izakaya food.

Discover the Art of Making Onigiri

Join our vegetarian onigiri classes and dive into the delightful Japanese culinary tradition. Onigiri, also known as rice balls, is a staple snack in Japan, beloved for its simplicity and versatility. While traditionally filled with seafood or meat, onigiri has been reinvented with vegetarian options that are both delicious and healthy. Our classes offer an opportunity to explore various fillings and learn the techniques to perfect this simple yet satisfying dish.

Onigiri is more than just rice shaped into a triangle. It's a canvas for creativity, allowing you to experiment with a variety of vegetarian ingredients. Common fillings include pickled vegetables, seasoned tofu, or even a combination of savory mushrooms and herbs. In our classes, you'll learn how to balance flavors and textures to make your onigiri both nourishing and gratifying.

Learn from Experienced Instructors

Our instructors are passionate about Japanese cuisine and bring extensive experience in both traditional and modern cooking techniques. They guide you through every step of the onigiri-making process, ensuring that you gain hands-on experience. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a beginner in the kitchen, our classes are tailored to suit all skill levels. You'll receive personalized attention to help you perfect your techniques and create onigiri that is not only visually appealing but also full of flavor.

In addition to the hands-on experience, our classes provide fascinating insights into the cultural significance of onigiri in Japan. You’ll learn about its history, the importance of rice in Japanese culture, and how onigiri has evolved over the years to accommodate diverse dietary preferences.

Healthy Eating with Vegetarian Onigiri

Vegetarian onigiri is not only a healthy meal but also a sustainable choice for those looking to reduce their meat consumption. Rice, the primary ingredient, is a great source of energy and can be paired with nutrient-rich ingredients like vegetables, miso, and seaweed. Our classes emphasize the health benefits of the ingredients used, encouraging you to make mindful eating choices.

By choosing vegetarian options, you're also supporting more sustainable food practices. Our classes use mostly locally sourced ingredients, promoting a farm-to-table experience. You'll leave with not only new culinary skills but also an appreciation for the impact of your food choices on the environment.

Join us for an engaging and educational experience where you can indulge in the rich flavors of Japanese cuisine while staying true to a vegetarian lifestyle. Our vegetarian onigiri classes are the perfect blend of learning, culture, and enjoyment.
