Taking a traditional udon and tempura making class in a 90-year-old Japanese house was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was steeped in history, with the wooden beams and tatami mats providing a cozy, authentic backdrop. Ayumi, a warm and knowledgeable instructor, guided me through each step of preparing fresh udon noodles from scratch and frying delicate tempura. The hands-on experience allowed me to appreciate the art of these classic dishes, while the instructor’s insights into Japanese cooking traditions deepened my understanding. The class was intimate, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and the final meal was both satisfying and delicious. It was a wonderful way to connect with Japanese culture in such a unique setting.

So much fun! So tasty! Amazing service and patient teacher.
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tokyo.
Although we had dietary restrictions, the host Watana was so accommodating and made it a morning to remember :)

My wife and I had a fantastic time with Wakana, learning about both Calligraphy and Udon noodles.
Wakana gave us a warm welcome and was a great host for the experience. She talked us through both the Udon and the Calligraphy portions and gave great explanations and details.
We really enjoyed our time - it was unique and memorable part of our time in Tokyo, and our finished Kanji that we chose are going up on our walls shortly!

Great class with tasty noodles at the end! Little English is spoken but it’s not a problem as they’re able to show and help you without needing to speak English. Only con would be that it’s quite far out, but easy enough to get there on the local bus from the station! Would definitely recommend.

Had a great experience learning to make udon noodles and do caligraphy with Wakama. She was very nice and responsive between the time we booked until the class itself.
The udon itself was the best I have eaten here. It was delicious, simple and chewy. In addition to that the caligraphy was really fun and interesting too, learning a few Kanji symbols along the way. Highly recommended.
