The baby anago appetizer and chawanmushi were especially memorable. Although Chef Takahiro seems to speak little English, he knew enough to communicate each of the dishes effectively. The experience felt very authentic and traditional with my party seated at the counter and Chef Takahiro working alone behind the counter. Chef Takahiro also provided excellent sake pairing recommendations: two of the best bottles I have ever tried.

The food was incredible and the staff was lovely and attentive. They explained the process behind each dish and the bar-style serving made it feel warm and inviting. 10/10 would recommend!!

A dining experience par excellence. From the suspense of the hidden location, to the high-end hospitality, through to the world-class kitchen culture, I can positively say that this was the best steak I have ever eaten. Highly recommendable!!

Brilliant food, friendly service and good atmosphere. If I ever have the chance to visit Hakodate again, I will come back.
