Great food tour and Kimmie-san is an excellent guide. Learned a lot of the history of Iroha Yokocho, as well as met some Sendai locals. Highly recommended!

It was a fun and enjoyable experience. Not only do you get to learn about how sake is made in the brewery but you also get to learn about how they grow oysters in the oyster farm.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience in Sendai with this tour. We visited an area in Sendai city which apparently is the old city centre with our guide Jess and started bar hopping there. At the first bar we ate all different types of Japanese-style share dishes and drank some very good sake from Yamagata. I don't know much about sake so I relied on Jess, who is originally from Australia but has lived in Sendai for years, so she was very knowledgable about Japanese culture. Next we ate at an oden restaurant for more eating and drinks. The final stop was a "yakitori" place where we ate chicken skewers and tried the last sake, also so good! Especially if you have limited or no abilities in Japanese the tour was a great chance to experience to experience what it's like to party Japanese-style in an izakaya.

A great tour to learn more about Japanese culture and the history of Sendai. Thought it was a perfect way to experience what the Japanese style of drinking is like. The venues are really interesting and not easy to get to if you aren't familiar with the city. I'd say if you like drinking and trying new food and are are planning on visiting Sendai but don't have much Japanese language skills I would definitely recommend this tour!
