Restaurant Details
Nikukappo Futago, opened its doors in March 2020, at a challenging time for all dine-in establishments. Yet it persevered as an exquisite addition to The Junei Hotel in Kyoto.
The establishment has been said to invoke the ideal of “iki” which can be translated as “breath”, “will” or fittingly “chic”. Some have called it “mature” yet “relaxed”, the ambiance just as balanced as its menu and its decor.
A full-sense dining immersion keeps with the theme in The Junei Hotel, offering patrons alluring bamboo and moon imagery during their stay, and moon-themed wagyu-based dishes to match.
The culture in Kyoto is to appreciate the transient beauty of the seasons, so monthly dishes change to reflect this shift. Three deeply selective wagyu dishes are served, paired perfectly with an expertly chosen stock of Japanese sake.
Kyoto Miyabi beef takes the spotlight in this winter menu that also features the freshest of Kyoto's seasonal vegetables and other local ingredients.
