Nerikiri-Making and Matcha: the Flowers and Flavors of Japan
Cooking Classes
I really loved the class. First of all the instructions for getting there were very detailed and easy to follow. The place is in a beautiful neighborhood, 2 minutes walk from the bus station. The teacher is very warm and friendly. She explained the process step by step and we made 4 creative and beautiful wagashi. At the end I drank matcha while she explained to me different facts about the culture of green tea in Japan and other sweets served alongside it. I will never forget this experience.

Embrace the Art of Vegetarian Japanese Cooking

Delving into the world of Japanese cuisine doesn't just mean sushi and ramen. There’s a much quieter revolution happening in culinary experiences that support both healthy eating and sustainable choices: vegetarian cooking classes. With a rich culinary tradition that includes plenty of plant-based ingredients such as tofu, seaweed, and seasonal vegetables, Japan offers the perfect setting to explore vegetarian cooking. Japanese cuisine is all about balance, and these classes emphasize on creating flavors that speak volumes without the use of meat. Learn how to craft iconic dishes like miso soup, vegan sushi, and delicious tempura with a green twist. These experiences are perfect for both beginners and seasoned home chefs looking to diversify their culinary repertoire.

Experience the Magic of Matcha in Cooking

One of the most intriguing ingredients in the world of Japanese cooking is matcha. This finely ground powder made from specially grown and processed green tea leaves is more than just a drink; it’s a fundamental part of Japanese culture and cuisine. In these vegetarian cooking classes, matcha is not only celebrated for its health benefits, including its rich antioxidants and metabolism-boosting qualities, but also for its versatility in cooking. Participants will learn how to incorporate matcha into a variety of dishes, from savory to sweet. Whether it’s creating a matcha-infused noodle dish or a vibrant matcha mousse for dessert, these hands-on classes show the full potential of this emerald powder, providing participants with skills they can replicate back home.

Engage in Interactive and Enriching Cooking Classes

Our vegetarian matcha cooking classes are designed to be more than just a lesson—they are an experience that immerses you in the culture and flavors of Japan. Each session is conducted by expert instructors who will guide you through each step, ensuring that even novices will be able to produce delicious results. Classes often include local market tours where participants can select fresh ingredients, getting to know the producers and artisans who specialize in high-quality vegetarian products. What's more, these classes are interactive, allowing you to ask questions on techniques and substitutions should you wish to adapt recipes later. By the end of the session, not only do you get to savor your creations, but you’ll also leave with comprehensive recipes and newfound skills.
