A premium wagyu yakiniku experience in private rooms transforms one of Saitama’s foremost vacation destinations into a charcoal grilling paradise.

Restaurant Details

Kawagoe brings throngs of visitors every year looking to explore its “Little Edo”, a slice of architectural and cultural history just 30 minutes from central Tokyo. Many of these visitors know the best way to round off a busy day of sightseeing is with an excellent meal — and there are few better places to go than Wagyu Yakiniku Mikoto for the perfect yakiniku experience.

At night, the restaurant takes on a special kind of energy, suffused with the warm glow of golden lights against its traditional rock pathway and wooden facade. Here, as its Japanese name suggests, guests are shown to private rooms, tastefully furnished with a combination of traditional Japanese and modern minimalist fixtures.

And also as its name would suggest, this is also where guests get acquainted with Mikoto’s supreme-quality domestic wagyu beef. This comes in multiple forms both familiar and not, supplementing traditional yakiniku fixtures like thick-cut tongue with unique twists like spoonfuls of caviar. Guests are also welcomed to try a glass or two of their in-house wine label (L’Orient), or sample one of the dozens of other wines, shochu or sake in their collection.
