Restaurant MARUJU
Creative Cuisine / Fusion Food
Enjoy Modern French cuisine in a beautifully renovated Meiji-era pharmacy building, in the center of historic Chichibu city.
Restaurant Details
In keeping with Chichibu City’s mission of revitalizing historically significant structures, the NIPPONIA Chichibu Monzenmachi Hotel has repurposed a cluster of buildings in the center of town, a short distance from the station.
One of them, the Meiji-era Maruju Pharmacy, has been made into the Monzenmachi Hotel’s MARUJU building. Together with its companion buildings, KEIKO and MIYATANI, the interiors perfectly harmonize the design sensibilities of the Taisho, Showa and modern architectural styles.
But just as impressive is the hotel’s restaurant, MARUJU, which serves up creative French cuisine that skilfully incorporates the fresh local produce, wild game and river fish of the Chichibu region’s mountains and rivers.
The restaurant’s sense of unassuming calm makes it the ideal place to relax with a glass of wine or sake with your meal — of which guests are completely spoiled for choice, thanks to MARUJU’s well-stocked cellar.
