Lovot — a name that combines “love” and “robot” — is Japan’s trendiest robotic companion intended to solve Japan’s loneliness epidemic. All rolly-balls and adorable, these doe-eyed, furry creatures feel warm to the touch, remember hugs and adore affection. Each Lovot boasts a unique personality: innocent, shy, easygoing or cautious — yet each is irresistibly cute in its own way.

Already a main stop on many rapid trains bound for Shizuoka, Haneda Airport and beyond, Kawasaki gains another exciting tech activity with the Lovot Cafe. Located in Lazona Kawasaki Plaza, anyone can now coddle up these pet-like robots in a charming cat-cafe-style venue.

While their order is prepared, they enjoy the company of a Lovot at their table. Once served, the Lovots return to their charging docks for their own "meal." Visitors can also observe the Lovots play and interact on stage, selecting their favorites to interact with post-meal. Some Lovots even display adorable signs of jealousy when another receives attention. Cuteness overload, indeed.
