Le Pont De Ciel
Marking its half-century anniversary, French cuisine at Le Pont De Ciel is now enjoyed at the counter, overlooking the kitchen with a wood-fired oven.
Restaurant Details
Le Pont De Ciel has withstood — and even evolved — against the test of time. When it reaches its 50th anniversary, the Michelin-starred restaurant transforms from a classic French eatery into a modern sanctuary within Osaka's commercial precinct.
A massive, U-shaped counter draws your eye to the space’s centerpiece: an expansive steel kitchen island, where the culinary team crafts French-rooted dishes in precise, almost choreographed movements. Curved accents and a cool interior color palette are the metamorphosis of the restaurant's vision to create a gastronomic hideaway. An impressive wood-fired oven sits on the back.
After working under French culinary legends like Pierre Orsi, executive chef Osamu Ogusu sets an exceptionally high bar for himself and his team. The menu merges innovative approaches with French culinary traditions, inviting guests to savor each bite with sommelier-selected wines. Cooking is done on firewood when possible: smoked monkfish, grilled seasonal vegetables and roasted lamb.
