Nent
Creative Cuisine / Fusion Food
The boundaries of traditional French cuisine are tested through the curiosity and drive of the chef at Michelin-starred Nent.
Restaurant Details
French restaurant Nent has consistently won one Michelin star since 2022. Named after the Latin word for “spin,” the owner-sommelier and chef work in harmony to weave guests into a delightful culinary experience based on, but not bound by, French cuisine principles.
The lunch and dinner menus change to accommodate the best ingredients of Japan’s seasons. Popular dinner creations include black ravioli stuffed with venison, a soft-shelled turtle Danish pastry for an amuse-bouche, and mackerel with salt-pickled cherry blossoms and bok choy. Horsemeat is prepared in different ways, including as tartare. The owner-sommelier maintains a wine list with roughly 40 varieties, mostly French, that are easily customizable to guests’ palates.
Nent is in a prime location in Kita, also known as Umeda, Osaka’s ultimate metropolitan hub packed with shops and restaurants. Stylish with warm wood tones, only table seating is provided, making Nent ideal for dining solo or celebrations, dates and outings with friends.
