Photogenic fine-dining is the name of the game at Osaka’s smallest Michelin restaurant.

Restaurant Details

※ As of 2023, La Kanro only takes reservations through the OMAKASE platform.

La Kanro is one of the smallest Michelin star restaurants in Osaka. While their dining room may be tiny, their reputation for high-quality French cooking is great.

Presentation is key to their approach, as displayed in dishes such as the lobster spring rolls, which are garnished with flower petals — encasing the crisp shell in a natural, edible, technicolor gift wrap. The dishes succeed due to this impeccable presentation as well as the quality of their components.

Oysters, caviar, wild pigeon, and veal loin are just some of the premium ingredients in their pantry, alongside a cellar stocked with a large selection of Burgundy wines. Skillful use of vinegar in the dishes helps the taste of the ingredients cut through the rich flavors.

The kitchen is kept separate from the dining area, making La Kanro an excellent place for a romantic occasion with someone you’re looking to impress. If things go well, you’ll be happy to know that the restaurant turns into a wine bar after the food service stops, meaning you’re free to chat the night away over a glass of vintage red.
