La Baie
Total sophistication — this is the perfect place to treat yourself, or your significant other, to a high-class French meal in Osaka.
Restaurant Details
“Upmarket” doesn’t even begin to describe this French restaurant, housed inside the Ritz Carlton Osaka. After being renovated in March 2019, the dining room now evokes the regal opulence of imperial France.
The menu is just as sophisticated. Expect classic dishes prepared with modern techniques, including duck foie gras terrine, amuse bouche, seasonal soups, and a fruit compote with cheese mousse. The name translates to “the bay,” so expect a wealth of great seasonal seafood dishes too.
The head chef, Christophe Gibert, was once the sous chef here, but was promoted to the head chef position in 2006. His passion for French gastronomy and quality Japanese ingredients is the coal in the engine of this place — one of the best European restaurants in Osaka.
