Butasute KITTE Marunouchi
Butasute KITTE Marunouchi in corporate mecca Marunouchi offers a cozy respite with hearty sukiyaki and shabu shabu dishes with Ise wagyu, paying homage to Mie Prefecture.
Restaurant Details
Ise wagyu, the origin of Matsusaka beef, is the pride and joy of the chefs at Butasute KITTE Marunouchi. Founded in 1909 by a long-established butcher shop in Ise, this location marked the butcher’s first venture into Tokyo. The restaurant has an exacting eye for quality, serving only Ise beef from heifers 30 months or older who haven’t given birth yet.
Lunchtime features reasonably priced gyudon, sukiyaki and steak-heavy dishes reminiscent of the cuisine served at the popular Edo-era street Okage Yokocho in Ise. At night, Kansai-style grilled sukiyaki takes center stage alongside large, thick slices of Ise beef grilled with shoyu and sugar produced in Mie Prefecture. Unsurprisingly, the alcohol menu heavily features Mie sake and wine chosen to pair with the meat.
The restaurant’s 5th-floor location offers grand views of the iconic, red-bricked Tokyo Station in Marunouchi, the upscale business district bordering the eastern Imperial Gardens. With its relaxing, warm wood interior and private rooms, Butasute KITTE Marunouchi is ideal for wining and dining with important guests or having a sumptuous lunch with friends and family before exploring the urban wilds of Tokyo.
