You’ll meet Junko, your host, at Omori Station and stroll together to a grocery shop, a Japanese sweets shop, and a tea shop. See slices of everyday life as you learn about flavors, seasonings, and customs as you make your way to Junko’s kitchen.
You’ll make gyoza (crispy pan-fried dumplings filled with vegetables and meat), a fluffy rolled omelet (tamagoyaki), and a refreshing dessert consisting of soft mochi filled with sweet bean paste and fruit known as daifuku. From making the gyoza wrappers by hand to filling and pan-frying them, Junko will guide you, giving you tips and best practices. After your homemade meal is ready, enjoy it at the table with Junko, and hear her insights and recommendations on all things Japan.
