Experience Details
Make ramen from scratch in this private class led by Junko, your local host, from making the broth, and kneading the noodles to enjoying your ramen meal.
You’ll meet Junko at Omori Station, near her home in a residential area of Tokyo, where she'll take you exploring her local grocery store, sweets shop, and traditional tea store. After the market tour, you'll head to Junko's kitchen to make miso ramen with chili sauce and hand-cut noodles, topped with a soft-boiled egg, corn, and vegetables. You'll make everything from scratch, including kneading the noodles with a traditional (and surprising!) method and learning to use a specialized ramen knife.
To complete the meal, you will also make seasonal fruit daifuku, a sweet mochi filled with bean paste and fresh fruit that you'll enjoy for dessert. Since this is a private class, you can cook at your own pace with help from Junko every step of the way.
Once you’ve finished cooking, you'll sit down to enjoy your delicious meal with Junko. A wife, mother, and experienced hotel concierge, Junko created this class to provide visitors to Japan with an authentic experience beyond what tourists typically see and do. Feel free to ask her any questions and gain valuable insights into local life in Tokyo. You'll get to take home a copy of the recipes to make again at home anytime.
