This was a great experience! We tried many different kinds of sake which were very different than the ones we’ve had in the USA. She showed us a presentation on the computer as well as some videos on how sake was made. We really enjoyed this fun and educational experience!

A great introductory session to sake. We really loved the lesson and the quiz. If you have 60 minutes, this is 100% worth it - if anything, try and do this BEFORE you hit the town and get a little knowledge and history under your belt!

Omakase Sake Tasting Guided by Sommeliers in Chiyoda (Tokyo)

Booked a sake tour on our first day in Japan as a way to become immersed in Japan and Seigo totally delivered. He is a total gentleman, with the knowledge of a scholar and skills and experience of a professional. We were very impressed by his in depth facts and historical context of every street, shop, and brewer. He is a certified sake sommelier and possibly the nicest, kindest person. We spent a great deal of time together talking about topics outside his wheelhouse too with great comfort. I would recommend this tour, and Seigo in particular, for anyone seeking an authentic, memorable experience.

Best Food and Drink Tasting Experiences in Japan

Want to learn how to order Japanese whisky like a pro, distinguish between the different types of Japanese sake, or brew the perfect cup of tea? These tastings in Japan will link you to specialists in their fields, so you can get insider tips and info about the world of Japanese beverages. Japanese sake enthusiasts can tour sake breweries, enjoy tastings of raw sake, and indulge in pairings of Japanese sake and sushi; while tea lovers can find zen in a cup of matcha and a bite of traditional Japanese sweets.

Book tastings in Japan and learn all about your favorite drinks, like sake and tea, which have been a vital part of Japanese culture for centuries and are still significant today. Matcha tea plays the starring role in the Japanese tea ceremony, a tradition that has its roots in Zen Buddhism and Japanese hospitality. Meanwhile, amazake, a fermented rice drink, is consumed during the Japanese New Year; and barrels of Japanese sake can be seen at many shrines, offerings from the breweries with symbolic and spiritual significance. During your trip, be sure to join a tasting in Japan and get a taste of the history and culture of the land of the rising sun.
