Easy going and educational experience! Our host/sensei Ms. Yuka guided us through 5 common Nagoya region dishes. She provided some educational background on origins and differences in ingredients as well as why they are used. The class was hosted at an easy to access location as well. Would recommend!

What a wonderful experience! Everything was clearly explained and conducted in a friendly and welcoming environment. It was a real learning experience, and you got to eat your handiwork when you were finished. The host explained and demonstrated everything first and then let's you do it on your own. Very authentic and highly recommended!

Discover the Art of Vegetarian Teishoku

Embark on a culinary journey with our unique Vegetarian Teishoku Cooking Classes. Teishoku is a traditional Japanese set meal that brings a harmonious balance of flavors and nutrition, typically consisting of a main dish, side dishes, rice, pickles, and soup. These meals not only offer a delightful taste experience but also provide a well-rounded intake of nutrients. Our vegetarian versions capture the essence of this traditional arrangement while catering to plant-based dietary preferences.

Our classes are designed to immerse you in the art of preparing delicious and aesthetically pleasing vegetarian Teishoku. You will learn to create dishes that honor Japanese culinary principles of balance and seasonality, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. From mastering the art of a perfectly cooked bowl of rice to preparing savory miso soup and perfectly seasoned vegetable dishes, these classes are perfect for both beginners and seasoned home cooks looking to expand their culinary skills.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you will discover the subtleties of flavoring agents, the importance of texture, and the visual presentation that defines Japanese cuisine. Whether you are a dedicated vegetarian or simply exploring meatless meal options, these classes offer valuable insights into a healthy and flavorful approach to cooking.

Hands-On Learning Experience

These vegetarian cooking classes are not just about following recipes; they are about understanding the philosophy behind the food. You will receive hands-on instruction, ensuring that you not only follow along but also develop a solid foundation in vegetarian Japanese cooking techniques. With small class sizes, our courses offer personalized attention, allowing you to master each dish with precision and confidence.

Throughout the session, you'll have the opportunity to engage with the instructor and fellow participants, sharing experiences and tips. You will learn how to select the best ingredients, use traditional cooking tools, and discover alternative ingredients that align with vegetarian diets without compromising on the authentic Japanese taste.

The skills and recipes you acquire in our cooking classes go beyond just preparing delicious vegetarian Teishoku. They empower you to experiment and create your own dishes, applying the foundational techniques to a variety of other cuisines and ingredients. The creativity and confidence gained in these classes can transform your everyday cooking.

Create and Savor Your Masterpieces

At the end of each class, participants come together to enjoy the meals they've crafted. This communal meal is an integral part of the experience, simulating the traditional Japanese dining style and encouraging an appreciation for the collective efforts involved in meal preparation. Sharing a meal allows for interaction, making new friends, and gaining different perspectives on food and culture.

Our focus is on enriching the culinary experiences of vegetarians without sacrificing the joy of taste. Carefully selected substitutes for typical animal-based products offer a pathway to maintaining nutrition and flavor, allowing you to indulge in luscious Japanese cuisine with peace of mind.

These Vegetarian Teishoku Cooking Classes are an incredible opportunity to delve into Japan's rich food culture, make meaningful connections, and enhance your cooking repertoire. Whether you're a local looking to refine your cooking skills or a tourist eager to take a piece of Japanese culture back home, this experience promises a unique and educational adventure.
