My time with Tomoko was wonderful. The walk from the station to her home was lovely and I enjoyed learning about the area. My classes one on one and I learned a lot. Tomoko was very patient and explained each step and ingredient with care. I was able to visit the grocery store and pick up things from the recipes to bring home to Canada. Tomoko put together a menu of some of my favorite dishes(okonomiyaki, agedashi tofu, spicy cucumbers) and they complimented each other well. Her homemade plum wine was such a treat! Our meal was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. I’m looking forward to using my new skills and making these dishes for my friends and family. I will definitely book another class with Tomoko in the future.

This was an amazing experience! Tomoko-sensei is extremely kind and speaks perfect English. She emailed us in advance to ask about our interests and adjusted the class to match. The setting was intimate and beautiful. Our class had just 2 participants and I think she said she limits participants to 4, so you will receive very personal attention. Tomoko-sensei taught us how to make 8 different dishes, some of which were not on the schedule, but just came up in conversation. She also took the time to answer our questions and make sure we understood how to cook these dishes. She provided recipes so that we can cook these dishes at home. Of course, the resulting food was delicious. The nature walk at the start of the class was also lovely.

From the beginning to the end we had a exceptional and wonderful experience. Masa and Junko were very friendly, professional and easy going. We enjoyed every minute of this course and learned a lot. Beer and Sake are available for purchase. We highly recommend to everyone and love to come back. Thank you very much and Arigato. Claudia, Gerald (and Martin, who took the pictures)

Masa and Junko gave us the warmest welcome. Immediately we started going through the ingredients and learned how they are essential to Japanese in a more broader sense, then talked about how it is used for okonomiyaki. We made dashi from scratch to put into the batter then cooked them on our own burners. Meanwhile Junko made some miso using the rest of the dashi and also some little salads (yum). Very informative and friendly course for anyone who loves cooking! We drank Japanese sake with our lovely shared meal of Japanese savoury panckaes! Highly recommended class.
