Restaurant Details
Step off the train at Higashi-Mukojima, take a short walk, and step through the doors of this time machine to a classic age of sushi dining. Opened in 1964, this restaurant has been popular among locals and visitors ever since.
Their three-hour omakase set-course meal is excellent value, and takes diners on an edible tour through the history of Japan. A series of small kaiseki dishes begins the journey in the royal households of old Kyoto, before traveling to Tokyo by sea, through a series of delicious pieces of Edomae sushi.
The highlight of the meal is surely the eel, charcoal-grilled in a classic Kyoto style. The mixed textures of the crispy skin and soft flesh are perfectly balanced. This is just one of the many delicacies on offer during one of the best-value luxury sushi experiences in town.
