Shogetsu
Pre-order your traditional sweets from one of the most prestigious and historic confectioners in Kyoto.
Restaurant Details
The nature of Japanese sweets, usually made from mashed rice (mochi) and other fresh ingredients, means that they can’t usually be stored for long. That’s why the sweets at this Kyoto confectionery shop must be made to order. They’ve been operating in the Murasakino area since 1916, making them one of the oldest sweet shops in the city. That’s why they’re trusted to provide the sweets used by top-tier tea ceremony practitioners in Kyoto.
As for the sweets themselves, you can choose from a range of traditional treats which use red and white bean paste with mochi (a glutinous paste made by mashing rice) and other historic ingredients.
