Experience Details
A classic and comforting combination, a steamy bowl of ramen served alongside a dish of crispy gyoza is a staple of Japanese cuisine. Delve into the country’s food culture by learning to make it yourself, guided by a Kobe local who will share her best home cooking secrets to achieve a deliciously rich ramen and crisp-perfect gyoza.
Your host, Ayumi, will welcome you into her apartment in a residential and scenic area of Kobe. Here, get a glimpse of everyday life in Japan as you step into the Japanese-style apartment to begin your cooking class. After introducing the ingredients and the flow of the class, Ayumi will guide you through making your delicious meal. You’ll start with ramen, preparing a shoyu (soy sauce) broth and cooking the premade ramen noodles. After that, you’ll add an assortment of colorful toppings like pork, egg, nori seaweed and green onion to complete your ramen.
It’ll then be time to prepare your gyoza dumplings. Guided by your host, you’ll make gyoza wrappers from scratch, fill them with vegetables, beef and pork and deep-fry them to crisp perfection.
After your meal is finished, enjoy your delicious homemade lunch with your host. Before bidding farewell, you’ll receive a cute souvenir to remember the experience by: a pair of wooden chopsticks inside a holder made of origami paper with mizuhiki decorations. This cooking class is the perfect way to enjoy a homecooked meal away from home and learn a few new recipes along the way.

Meeting Point and Meeting Time
The meeting point will be in Kobe’s Higashinada ward, about 35 mins from Osaka by rapid train or 30 min from Kobe Station. More detailed information and a Google Maps link will be provided upon booking. Please arrive at the meeting point prior to the scheduled start time.

Guests are required to take their shoes off to enter the venue.
Participants under the age of 6 can participate as part of a private booking. Please specify the number of children upon booking.
Please note that pre-made noodles will be used for ramen.
