Restaurant Details

Fukuoka is the best city for sushi — the area surrounding this region is abundant in fish and other seafood as well as being extremely affordable. Located at the heart of Fukuoka’s busy city Hakata, just around the corner of Gion Station, is Sushi Taro. The owner of this astounding sushi establishment trained in not only his home city but also embarked on a learning experience in Spain. Upon his return, he opened up his own humble restaurant to share his refined sushi cuisine.

Sushi Taro has been consistently praised for its never ending evolution, each turn taking a step up from before. Chef Taro is inventive when it comes to bringing out the natural flavors of his carefully-selected local ingredients. His use of condiments is what sets him apart from the rest — there’s always two types of vinegared rice in every sushi dish. Along with their impressive collection of wine and sake, you’ll definitely get the royal treatment at this Michelin-starred sushi restaurant.
