Shabu-Shabu Tsukada Shibuya Scramble Square
A high-class hotpot experience with some of Japan’s finest beef, right next to Shibuya Station.
Restaurant Details
Located in Shibuya Scramble Square and directly beneath Shibuya Sky, Shabu-Shabu Tsukada puts a new spin on the typically communal hotpot experience by giving each diner their own individual hotpot.
Only the finest ingredients are available here: A5-grade Japanese kuroge wagyu black beef, including the likes of the legendary Kobe beef and Matsusaka beef, are available — many of them even available in the same course menu, so diners can taste the subtle differences between some of the finest wagyu beef available in Japan.
The vegetables are equally excellent. The usual staples of cabbage and mustard greens are a rarity — diners might be surprised to find an unorthodox selection of seasonal varieties here. Additionally, they are exceptionally fresh; vegetables are sent straight from farms and producers in Akita Prefecture who are directly contracted by the restaurant.
All this is served in a space whose design was supervised by iconic Japanese designer, Sato Kashiwa, who has collaborated with the likes of Uniqlo, 7-Eleven and Rakuten. A Cultural Envoy of Japan, Mr Sato’s creative eye and hand masterfully blends the foundations of contemporary interior design with traditional Japanese motifs: clean and minimal but at the same time never clinical.
Its location in central Shibuya makes it not just easy to get to, but also allows for beautiful views of the Shibuya cityscape and the Scramble Crossing — especially at night, when the iconic lights of Tokyo’s most famous urban environment come to life. Floor to ceiling windows let visitors to Tsukada gaze out over Shibuya, their views unobstructed. A great place to round out a day of shopping in central Tokyo, right next to Shibuya Station.
