「REGINA」
From its stylish, checker-tiled space to its contemporary pasta, Kinshicho’s「REGINA」is showing its Italian roots and romantic charm at a gold-standard level.
Restaurant Details
The neighborhood eatery 「REGINA」has become a strong player in Kinshicho’s crop of contemporary Italian joints, partly due to its charming bistro ambiance but mostly because of its service program designed specifically for one demographic: women. Even then, “Regina,” means queen in Italian.
The effort starts with the restaurant’s fashionable interior brief. The elegant, light-filled dining room showcases curved cherry-red banquettes and geometric tiles, all accented with a sophisticated black color scheme. A glass-enclosed wine cellar is visible at one end of the venue. Seating spills onto the terrace, where dramatically lit olive trees and a sparkling pool center the scene. The entire thing is as sophisticated as it is picture-perfect, plucking diners out of Kinshicho into a world of romance.
On its crowd-pleasing menu are classic Italian dishes presented with modern plating and subtle twists. Daily pasta specials are updated with touches of foie gras poele and tender daikon. Fresh fish is prepared using a variety of techniques, and the lobster fricassee is enhanced with a rich Americano sauce. Highlights also include the timeless Margherita pizza, an authentic velvety carbonara (no cream, just guanciale) and a Porcini mushroom risotto paired with prosciutto. And then there's the meat menu: Kagoshima black pork loin, grilled to perfection and served with a balsamic reduction; roasted Kuroge wagyu with a rich veal jus; and Seiryu chicken thighs sauteed with a zesty green pepper sauce.
The service side of things is impeccable, too, as staff program their approach to match every occasion, whether it’s al fresco wine nights, romantic dates or friendly catch-ups. It’s blissful from start to finish.
REGINA’s most popular course offers a sumptuous selection of the freshest fish and premium ingredients, including foie gras, wagyu beef and Yamayuri pork. The experience begins with a celebratory champagne toast and concludes with a delectable dessert, accompanied by a choice of coffee or tea.
