Fine kaiseki dining on the naturally beautiful north side of Kyoto, where you can enjoy a return to nature in fresh seasonal cooking.

Restaurant Details

Situated at the foot of the northern Kyoto mountains, this traditional restaurant currently has two Michelin stars, having secured its place in the Michelin Guide just one year after opening.

Its name references the old name for this beautiful place, and the menu makes the most of the proximity to such a lush locale. Here you can enjoy sweetfish from the rivers, handpicked vegetables from the farms, and wild-picked ingredients from the forests. These feature alongside premium wagyu beef and fresh seafood.

Although the style is unmistakably Japanese, there are also some foreign influences on display which will keep even experienced kaiseki fans guessing.
