Gion Nanba
A kaiseki experience with a Michelin-starred history, right in the middle of Kyoto’s traditional district of Gion.
Restaurant Details
Within historic Kyoto’s rustic alleys lie undiscovered treasures waiting to be found by the curious traveler. Tucked away in the centre of Kyoto’s traditional district Gion, Gion Nanba whisks diners away from the noise and activity of tourist spots, into a private space to enjoy an authentic Kyoto kaiseki experience that received a Michelin Star in 2010 and 2013.
Gion Nanba aims to present diners with everything Kyoto has to offer through their course meals, made with the finest ingredients and chosen personally by Chef Nanba himself.
Chef Nanba takes these ingredients and makes them into beautiful dishes greater than the sum of their parts, combining seafood sourced from Japan’s bountiful seas with Kyoto’s specialty yuba tofu skin and vegetables to create the subtle yet complex taste characteristic of Kyoto cuisine. It’s the perfect place for a deep dive into Japan’s rich culinary tradition.
