Restaurant Details
It might be located in Okinawa’s sunshine capital, Naha, but Naha Miyachiku is a love letter to the cuisine and aesthetics of Miyazaki Prefecture. The restaurant is managed under the Miyachiku Company, one of the few distributors certified to sell top-grade Miyazaki wagyu. The wagyu variety has won the Prime Minister’s Prize at the National Wagyu Beef Prize Show four consecutive times. And thanks to a direct relationship with producers, the restaurant’s meat quality is unmatched while keeping prices at a reasonable level.
The most popular course features wagyu filet cooked teppanyaki-style, which is followed up by a lobster Thermidor in an orbiting French twist; it’s here that the crustacean meat is cooked on a wine-infused sauce before getting stuffed back into the lobster shell and browned.
The “Miyazaki Beef Kappo” course spotlights Miyazaki specialties like Miyazaki-gyu, which can be grilled with charcoal from umami oak grown in Unama, and a regional citrus granite for a palate cleanser. For seafood lovers, the fresh abalone dish cooked before guests i not to be missed.
The dedication to Miyazaki Prefecture extends to the interior, with textured shale-like walls reminiscent of the famed Takachiho Gorge and the Devil’s Washboard. Whether it’s celebrating with family or splurging on lunch with friends, Naha Miyachiku excels in many ways: the food is well-executed, the interior is luxurious and the hospitality matches the look.
A kappo-style, 8-course menu that highlights Miyazaki beef, one of Japan’s finest, as the star of the meal. Alongside the beef, diners will indulge in a variety of dishes featuring fresh seafood, such as abalone, as well as other premium ingredients, culminating in a dessert crafted by the restaurant’s in-house patissier.
