Miyarabi
A Tokyo gastropub with good-time Okinawan island vibes, where you can enjoy authentic dishes and alcohol from the islands.
Restaurant Details
Miyarabi is an izakaya, but no ordinary one! Here they celebrate the culture and cuisine of Okinawa. This means great seafood, tofu, and pork — due to the historic influence of China and Taiwan on those islands.
In addition to normal varieties of sake, you can also sample awamori: a type of Okinawa alcohol which you won’t often find in Tokyo. There are even Okinawan dance and song performances every evening, and the wall is decorated with dozens of shinto-inspired masks from the region (ranging from the charming to the grotesque).
The menu features dishes like tofu topped with fish, champuru (Okinawan stir fry), Okinawa soba, and dozens of other delicious small plates.
