Mikawa Tempura
Attention to detail makes all the difference in the batter and oil at this top tempura restaurant in Akita.
Restaurant Details
A pleasant husband and wife team is the driving force behind his artisan tempura restaurant in Akita. Under the care of their warm hospitality, guests are invited to enjoy one of the best tempura meals in the region.
The husband handles the cooking, having trained at some highly-reputed tempura shops in Tokyo, while the wife attends to the service. Their menu is omakase only, but you can choose the price point which best suits your budget.
As for the tempura itself, a combination of rapeseed and sesame oil in the fryers, and an incredibly light batter recipe, creates deliciously crisp fritters of vegetable and fish which don’t feel oily in the slightest.
Novel condiments will be recommended for each piece of tempura (through gestures and smiles if you don’t know Japanese).
