Iida
Touch, feel, and taste the essence of ancient Japanese culture at this top Kyoto kaiseki restaurant
Restaurant Details
Described as the "kimono of cooking" for its rich traditionalism, Iida is a well-regarded kaiseki restaurant in Kyoto, with 3 Michelin stars (Michelin Guide 2020) to its name. It's a known fact that Iida uses antique serving-ware by famous potters like Eiraku, Rosanjin, and Baccarat x Tojiro Harumi to serve their exquisitely prepared dishes.
Sitting quietly on Aneyakoji-dori, the restaurant offers an in-depth glance into Japanese culture with every bite, and every moment experienced in the traditional tatami Japanese room. Iida's omakase menu changes monthly. Look out for carp with grilled awa-fu and leek soup during spring, moon-shaped kudze tofu made from soy milk soup in fall, and fugu tessa with sieved shirako in winter.
