———
This traditional kaiseki restaurant breaks from orthodoxy in the best way possible — by adding delicious champagne meals to the historic cuisine of Kyoto! Located in Gion, the well-preserved historic heart of the city’s dining and entertainment scene, Gion Iwasaki is a great place to sample authentic Kyoto dishes.
The chef uses condiments and ingredients like sesame oil or citrus fruits to add new dimensions to classic dishes. Expect excellent seasonal ingredients prepared in a wide variety of styles in an omakase (chef’s choice) meal, including an outstanding hassun. It’s impossible to predict what will feature on the menu any given day, but needless to say everything is prepared with delicacy and care for an authentic taste of Kyoto.
