Experience Details
Embark on a private tour of Shinjuku in central Tokyo and explore some of its iconic sights and foods!
After meeting your local guide, walk to the bustling Omoide Yokocho alley, home to dozens of tiny izakaya restaurants specializing in yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). Enjoy the juicy and tender skewers while basking in the area's nostalgic atmosphere. After that, feast on authentic, fresh sushi at a long-established restaurant popular with the locals.
Next, follow your guide to neon-lit Kabukicho, an entertainment district in Shinjuku known as the Sleepless Town, famous for its restaurants and nightlife. Here is where you'll find the iconic Godzilla head popping up from a building. You’ll get to take plenty of photos before making your way to Golden Gai, a network of narrow roads packed with over 200 small restaurants. Famous for its festive ambiance, this is the perfect place to experience local nightlife.
After that, you’ll explore a nearby shrine before seeing some of the area’s most iconic shopping hubs. You’ll see Isetan Shinjuku, a high-end department store that first opened as a kimono shop in 1886, and check out Don Quijote, an enormous variety store that sells everything from groceries to makeup and plenty of souvenirs. Your last bite will be a steamy bowl of tonkotsu ramen, a Japanese noodle dish made from pork bones boiled until they dissolve into a milky white soup. Extra noodles are available upon request! After that, you will bid farewell to your guide at Shinjuku Station.
