This experience had to be one of the most memorable experiences during my trip. I was able to experience an authentic and exclusive local omakase dinner thanks to Ryo. Not only was the dinner experience phenomenal, but I was also able to experience one of the most amazing cherry blossom spots (within Tokyo) along the Meguro River. Throughout the entire experience, Ryo was able to take some wonderful photos to commemorate the night and send them my way within a couple of days. Overall, I would highly recommend this experience to anyone and everyone coming to Japan who are looking to not only view cherry blossoms but, also, experience an authentic omakase experience.

I’m usually not one to book tours (as I prefer to be adventurous and discover things by myself), but the moment I saw this one was hosted by Shizuka I knew we had to join. We’ve visited Japan twice now and have planned so much of our trip with the help of Japan by Food, especially the videos hosted by Shizuka, which we absolutely love. She’s so natural and kind, and I’m happy to say the tour felt exactly like stepping into one of her videos, in the best way possible. It was honestly a dream. Everything we tasted was delicious, thoughtfully chosen, and beautifully presented. I was surprised (and thrilled) that the experience ended with a full dinner at an izakaya, I thought it would just be street food in Nakameguro, but dinner was the perfect last stop before wrapping up. Funny story: we actually didn’t realize it was a group tour until we showed up! But I’m so glad it was. The group was small, which made it feel intimate, and everyone was lovely. It really added to the magic of the experience. Already looking forward to booking another food adventure like this, especially if Shizuka’s the host!
