This spring, you’ll have the exclusive chance to enjoy a cherry blossom food tour with Japan by Food YouTube host Shizuka Anderson! For a limited time, join Shizuka at Nakameguro, one of Tokyo's most famous areas for cherry blossom viewing. Together with Shizuka, you'll embark on a food tour and taste some of Shizuka's favorite seasonal foods and drinks.
Renowned for its "sakura tunnel" along Meguro River, which is lined with cherry blossom trees, Nakameguro becomes enlivened during its sakura festival each spring. The air is filled with the mouthwatering aroma of street food from rows of stalls, drawing in visitors from far and wide to enjoy the Japanese tradition of hanami (cherry blossom viewing). This is one of Tokyo's most popular hanami spots, so it's easy to get lost in the crowds, but Shizuka will lead you through the site. You'll be stopping at several distinct food stops where you'll taste some of her favorite seasonal snacks. Indulge in hanami dango, grilled beef skewers and local neighborhood sweets on a street food exploration so unique it'd be worthy of being featured on its very own Japan by Food YouTube episode.
After your stroll, you'll head to an izakaya bar where you'll cheers with Shizuka for an amazing afternoon exploring Tokyo's cherry blossoms (or, if the weather is good, you might enjoy the fresh air outside instead).
