We had an amazing time with Shizuka! Our kids (ages 6 and 9) thought this was one of the best things we did in Japan- they had the opportunity to learn about the Harajuku culture, to try tons of new foods (fun and delicious) and Shizuka kept them engaged and excited for the entire time. I really appreciated her patience and her ability to manage the group and our varying interests. The kids are already asking when we can go back to do another food tour with Shizuka!! Thank you, ByFood and Shizuka for hosting this incredible tour!

Shizuka Anderson is a wonderful host. Her energy and kindness immediately brings a group of strangers together. One will feel like they are part of one of her Byfoods videos. The overall detail and locations are thoughtful, thorough.m and chosen with purpose. Overall anyone that is able to book this tour is lucky to be on it.

The tour was an absolute blast. Shizuka is the perfect balance of professionalism and very personable. I really felt immersed in the city and learned so many unique facts about the area, food and culture in general. Truly a different caliber, an "S" tier tour, I wish I could join in on one every week if able. Highly Recommend!

It's an exceptional opportunity for every foodie to watch, how mochi is pounding. Even more so to participate in it! We really enjoyed the interesting insights, and discovering the whole process – not to mention the unique deliciousness of the fresh mochi. We could even try four different types of it! The organisation of the whole event was very smooth: easy communication, clear itinerary, friendly and nice hosts, professional chef by the soup making (actually, it was a complete lunch), lot of further tips and informations on the traditional Japanese cuisine. Marie, our host is actually an advocate of the fermentation and traditional way of cooking ("washoku"), so she has a broader point of view on this topic. Through her experience, we could also get a deeper understanding on the usage of the ingredients and their health effects. It was a pleasure to meet her and participating on this experience. I would warmly recommend to all food lovers and enthusiasts! (The location is within reachable distance of many famous sake breweries and also not far from the Fushimi-inari shrine. So you can schedule nicely into your plans.)

It was a super fun evening with Shizuka san! She was so cheerful and enthusiastic and nice just like what we see on You Tube video. I'm Japanese and have been to Harajuku many times, but I was able to experience new food and new fun activities on this tour. I also enjoyed learning some history side of Harajuku from Shizuka san. Time flew so fast. Thank you for a great tour!
