Sanlucar Bar
If there was ever an excuse for day drinking, it’s the delicious drinks at this Kagurazaka cocktail powerhouse.
Restaurant Details
Opening in 2010, the bartender and owner at this Kagurazaka bar trained at the famous cocktail spot named Tender in Ginza. His own bar has become a popular fixture of this trendy gourmet neighborhood, with drinkers streaming in from opening time at 2:00 pm.
It may be a little early for some, but there’s no shame in it — when the cocktails are this good, you’ve technically always got something to celebrate. Mastery of the classics takes precedence over inventiveness: whiskey Manhattans, gin martinis, daiquiris.... All of them are on the upper end of acceptable as far as pricing goes.
The counter is made from teak — a shipbuilding wood — because the name references the arrival point on the journey of a samurai diplomat to Spain in 1614. Consider booking ahead to avoid disappointment.
