Restaurant Details
Serving a maximum of 18 guests at a time, Chef Kazunori Takayama ensures the highest level of hospitality and cuisine at his restaurant, Nihonryori Takayama.
Takayama’s Hiroshima restaurant has an inviting atmosphere, with amber lighting and an L-shaped solid wood counter that encircles the chef’s stage: the open kitchen. Up to 12 guests can sit here, chatting casually with the chef as he meticulously prepares each plate. Drawing from Hiroshima’s local ingredients and bountiful seafood, Chef Takayama creates innovative dishes that appeal to all five senses.
Starting at the age of 15, Takayama trained under the renowned chef Toshiro Kandagawa, who famously competed on the Japanese television show, Iron Chef. Following his training, Takayama went on to become head chef at Miyajima Kinsuikan and Clayton Bay Hotel, before opening Nihonryori Takayama in 2010.
