Ebisu Kuroiwa
Settle in for a display of culinary showmanship just south of Shibuya, dressed in the garments of tradition.
Restaurant Details
At this Ebisu restaurant, which falls somewhere between the elegant formality of kaiseki dining and the slightly more performative style of kappo, the counter seats are the prime real estate.
From here, you’ll be able to observe the master chef at work as he chops up seasonal ingredients and arranges them into dishes with such beautiful presentation that it seems a shame to eat them.
Interestingly, they also provide special celebration meals which include use of one of two private rooms and special decorations to fit the occasion. When seated in these rooms, you’ll be attended to by hostesses wearing traditional kimono, which ties the whole experience together with a sense of history and tradition.
