Step back in time at Kobe Shushinkan, a 270-year-old sake brewery in Kobe’s Nada region. In this prolific sake-producing region, the craft of brewing sake, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, has been perfected over generations and is deeply rooted in tradition.This exclusive tour, complete with a tasting and a food pairings, will uncover the practices, traditions and methods that make the sake brand “Fukuju” truly exceptional.
After touring the brewery alongside an English-speaking guide, enjoy a private sake tasting session of top-quality sake not available in standard tastings, and discover the nuances and differences between different sake varieties.
The experience concludes with a beautifully arranged kaiseki course meal with fresh, seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients. Your meal will be paired with Fukuju’s refined sake to create a perfect harmony of flavors. The highlight of the meal will be a premium cut of juicy, melt-in-your-mouth Kobe beef, one of the most esteemed meats in Japan (if not the world), which guests will grill on a hot plate. Meet your host at Kobe Shushinkan Brewery, located around an 8-minute walk from Ishiyagawa Station, a 5-minute drive from JR Rokkomichi Station, or a 20-minute drive from Shin Kobe Station. More detailed information and a Google Maps link will be provided upon booking.
