Experience Details
Washoku, or traditional Japanese cuisine, is known for its reliance on readily available ingredients to create meals that are both nutritious and beautifully presented. Central to washoku’s wellness benefits is the structure known as “ichiju sansai,” which translates to “one soup, three dishes.” This meal typically includes a bowl of miso soup and three dishes: a protein like grilled fish, meat or sashimi, paired with two vegetable-based sides. The tradition of Ichiju Sansai dates back to the Muromachi period, originating as a banquet-style meal for the upper class and samurai before becoming the cornerstone of washoku.
Now, you can immerse yourself in this centuries-old culinary tradition through a cooking class led by a seasoned instructor with over 10 years of experience in holistic cooking.
