We had a fantastic evening with our Kyoto Izakaya food guide, Hiroshi! We truly appreciated his enthusiasm when sharing his love and knowledge of the food and culture. All the food choices that he made for us were fabulous and delicious! And we thoroughly enjoyed our after dinner stroll through Gion and surrounding areas, all while Hiro shared interesting facts about Japanese culture & traditions. We highly recommend Hiro if you want a fun night out with wonderful memories of Kyoto that you can look back on fondly!

Hiro was amazing!! He contacted me as soon as I booked the adventure. He was super kind and helpful. Always on time and went out of his way to help us with many things. The food and drinks were terrific!! Highly recommend!

Hiroshi was quite amiable, articulate and knowledgeable. Most of all, he was fun. Explained the food and setting. He was also quite responsive to the fact that our group tour had walked the area. And he wanted to make sure he showed us places we have not seen yet. Top notch surprise at the end of a long and spirited walk.

Hiroshi was awesome. He reached out as soon as we signed up for the tour and started crafting an izakaya and walking tour night for us through and around Pontocho, Gion, and Yasaka. He very helpfully set us up for all the best photos (we didn’t even know he was doing it until suddenly we were in perfect lighting and away from other tourists). He was also great making sure I could eat despite a gluten allergy (not always easy in Japan). Very much recommend Hiroshi!

Hiroshi was an excellent guide. We experienced some wonderful Japanese cuisine at 2 “local” restaurants. Later in the evening he showed us thru the Gion district, explaining some of the history, the cultural nuances and we luckily got to view a Geisha going about her evening. It was also nice that he shared some of his personal life experiences living in Kyōto.
