Experience Details
Japan’s “Kingdom of Food,” Hokkado’s abundant land and sea offer up everything from staple agricultural products like potatoes and wheat to delicacies like gigantic king crab. But this dining experience showcases a different element of Hokkaido’s cuisine, the prefecture’s famous dairy industry, at a ranch that prides itself on its sustainable farming efforts.
Disconnect from the noise of technology and find peace during a relaxing night at a Hokkaido campsite run by Tokachi Shinmura Farm, enjoying an upscale camping experience with cozy accommodation: a minimalist, box-style wooden cabin from which you can gaze out at the vast fields or appreciate the absence of city lights, marveling at the number of twinkling stars overhead.
Located at a campground just outside of Tokachi Shinmura Farm, the accommodation is ready to go, and the ingredients for the BBQ dinner will be provided alongside a grill. Guests can grill up their own dinner, including pork, wiener, Jingisukan (grilled mutton), potato, Tokachi mash, and beef sagari. After this hearty meal, wind down by gazing up at the stars, and enjoying the company of your family and friends.
Tokachi Shinmura Farm is now in the hands of a fourth generation dairy farmer who is conscious of the farm’s environmental impact, and produces high-quality dairy products while striving for zero waste. Visitors can take pleasure in knowing that they are supporting environmentally-friendly dairy farming practices during their stay.

Experience Location
The Tokachi region of Hokkaido is known for its thriving nature and abundant agriculture. Lake Shikaribetsu is located on the highest point of Hokkaido, and in winter the lake freezes over, turning into an ice village that features igloos, onsen, and other winter fun. The area is also known for the unusual moor hot springs, which are especially frequented by women due to the water’s beautifying properties. Due to the prosperous wheat and dairy industry, many sweets are also produced in the area.
