Tsurumi Shokudo
A long running pork cutlet specialty shop, with inventive dishes like the pork cutlet bun!
Restaurant Details
Japan has a rich culinary culture, which is steeped in history and tradition. However, what we sometimes fail to realize is the spirit of innovation which drove the development of this diverse cuisine!
Japanese food TV is testament to the national love of inventive new dishes, which is why Tsurumi Shokudo has been featured for their katsuni-man dish — a fried pork cutlet bun! Tonkatsu (fried pork cutlets) are a meaty favorite around the counter, and the katsuni-man puts it in the form of a Chinese-style bun.
Of course, the standard pork cutlets are also on the menu. The style served at this retro local eatery is fantastically crisp, without any oily coating. Get one over rice with egg and onion for a delicious, filling meal. They even use a special sauce which was passed down by the original owner.
