An infinite seeming range of small cakes are laid out in rank and file on the counter at this Yokohama pastry shop, each more appealing than the last. The presentation is as delicate as it is varied: glossed spherical cakes coated in chocolate sit alongside layered sponges and novelty cakes designed to look like cute characters.
The texture isn’t too dense — it’s light and fluffy enough that you can enjoy sampling two or three pieces without it becoming too sickly. You’ll realize the benefits of this as soon as you take your first bite — you just won’t want to stop after that.
