Kaishoku Shimizu
Skillfully cooked — flavorful — reasonably priced. This kaiseki restaurant ticks all of the above and more.
Restaurant Details
This intimate 15-seat establishment is the personal playground of a chef with excellent knowledge of seasonal produce, due to his experience in the agricultural industry. You can rest assured you’re getting the best of the season’s offerings when you take a seat at his counter.
These are transformed into excellent vegetable and fish combos. Little twists throughout add a sense of the unexpected to the very traditional kaiseki format. If that alone weren’t enough reason to visit, the price of the lunch set course certainly is. It’s extremely rare to find a high-class kaiseki meal in Osaka this far south of 10,000 yen!
