Le Nougat
A backstreets venture by wine bar Chinois, the Michelin-featured Le Nougat features over 60 classical french dishes.
Restaurant Details
Eggs with mayonnaise, steak frites, nougat glace and over 50 other dishes picked from the arsenal of French cookery grace the tables of Le Nougat, a quaint Parisian bistro in one of Ginza’s most desirable neighborhoods. Here, classical French cuisine is done the way of the “old country.”
Chinois, a locally beloved wine bar that regulars swear is one of the best kitchens in Tokyo, is the genius behind Le Nougat. Its warm space, rustic and friendly with red benches and Parisian background music, is just one appealing factor of Le Nougat’s dining room. The heavenly smells of rich mother sauces and plates plucked from the French canon are another.
A generous wine list, curated by the Chinois wine cellar, and one of Tokyo's best (and only) brunch services round out the experience. Bread is baked in-house daily, an ideal accompaniment to cassoulet or shellfish simmered in Bourgogne butter. The large plates are best for sharing. Party plans for five or more guests introduce a range of signature dishes, including a surprising omelet over rice, for the reasonable pricing that has landed Le Nougat on the Michelin Guide list.
