GREAT EXPERIENCE! We had an amazing food tour in Osaka with Damian. He took us to 3 different izakayas in the nightlife areas of Osaka and selected menus to showcase many different Osaka specialties. We loved how he explained what an izakaya is and how they serve the local population. He ordered foods that anyone might order, but also some “stretch foods” that tourists might not order on their own. He even adapted his last stop to accommodate requests and our group had a great time! It is really difficult to try to explore izakayas alone as a tourist because of the language barrier and Damian was a great guide who gave us an amazing night eating and drinking with the locals. If you want to really experience the izakaya and learn about the evening culture in Osaka, Damian is the top guide to go with!

We enjoyed having our own personal tour guide (Keiko) to show us places we might have missed if we were on our own, especially the small shops on the quiet back roads. Good selection of food choices in Yanaka Ginza--we were stuffed at the end. We also appreciated small touches such as our guide providing a bag for our trash and hand wipes for our sticky hands. Overall, the pacing and time allotted for this tour was just right.

We had a wonderful evening with Ryo (our photographer) and Hasegawa-San at his exclusive restaurant! Hasegawa-San and his staff were very accommodating with our dietary restrictions (we are vegetarian), and cooked up a masterful 8 course dinner ! The dinner was tasty, and my family loved the whole experience! Afterwards, even though we were early for the sakura (they hadn’t bloomed yet), Ryo-San found us a couple of trees that had blossomed and took some beautiful pictures! I recommend the tour highly- thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience!
