Your host will choose a motif and type of wagashi for you to make inspired by the season. Get creative, learn the intricate craft of these Japanese sweets, and enjoy a wagashi treat with a cup of matcha green tea expertly prepared by your host.
Itinerary:
-Meet your host at Azamino Station. She will take you to the venue by car.
-Make seasonal wagashi (the exact type to be made will depend on the season).
-Enjoy eating a piece of your homemade wagashi with matcha green tea prepared by the host, a tea ceremony master. The remaining four pieces are for you to take home!

Ikuyo, your host, was born into a family of tea ceremony experts, attending tea ceremonies from a young age. Her love for the craft inspired her to become a tea ceremony master herself. While living abroad, she enjoyed connecting with people from different cultures over Japanese tea ceremony rituals. Today, she enjoys sharing her knowledge of Japanese culture and customs with visitors, and she also offers regular lessons for international residents in Japan.
