Experience Details

Are you a cooking amateur or a curious traveler wondering what’s a common culinary scenario in Japanese homes? This is the cooking class made for you!

Your teacher, Marimo, is a professional cooking instructor with a thorough knowledge of medicinal cooking in addition to Japanese home cooking and a grasp on a variety of international cuisines. She hosts English-taught cooking classes at her salon and provides catering and food styling services for magazines, tv shows, etc. Though, learning to cook by watching her own grandma preparing delicious meals for the family could be said her biggest asset.

She will introduce you to Japanese home cooking and especially teach you a traditional cooking model that can lay a sound foundation for many succulent variations of ingredients: ichiju sansai. It features a bowl of toasty soup, side dishes, a main meat-or-fish-based dish, and a filling bowl of ever-present rice. Juicy chicken, simmered veggies, zesty pickles, miso flavors, and savory fish are just a few of the possible elements of your Japanese feast. Marimo is a fan of healthy vegetables, hence she will teach you to cook nutrient-dense dishes and grain-sprinkled rice rich in nutritional values.
